About Us / 2013 Frederick County Sheep Breeders (Maryland) History: A regional sheep and goat breeders & producers organization, 75+ members from many Maryland Counties, plus a few members from Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia. The 2013 Events are listed on the FCSB website.The purpose of the FCSB is to promote sheep, goat and lamb activities in Maryland -- promote and support the area's farm flocks, be a resource for members, educate the public, and support young shepherd's 4-H activities.Members raise sheep and goats for a variety of purposes -- fleeces, roving, yarns, hand-knit clothing, blankets, tanned sheep/goat skin pelts -- plus locally raised, farm-fresh, custom-processed meat; 4-H project lambs & kid goats, and registered and commercial breeding stock.Members also raise chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, cattle, alpacas, horses -- plus eggs, vegetables, hops, honey and some have CSA gardens. A few farms are Maryland Certified Organic Farms. Many FCSB members sell at various Farmers' Markets.
