About Us / Battleview Orchards History: Battleview Orchards has been a family owned and operated farm ever since Charles and Carrie Applegate purchased it over 100 years ago. As one might suspect, it is located near a battlefield. It was used during the Revolutionary War Battle of Monmouth and just down the block is a famous well used by “Molly Pitcher” herself. Starting with just 130 acres growing only apples, the farm now boasts a wide variety of items available year round and is nestledon state-owned preserved historic farmland. Produce grown includes strawberries, peaches, sour cherries, pumpkins and apples- all of which are available for “Pick-Your-Own” when they’re in season! What sets Battleview apart from the rest is their farm’s historical background and their family’s deep rooted farming tradition. Four generations later, Scott and Lisa Applegate encourage visitors from all over the tristate area to come enjoy a day spent picking produce out in the orchards and checking out their country store. In the store, visitors can find homegrown produce, fresh baked goods (known county-wide as the best apple cider donuts around), new recipes, and other cool farm products! Also be sure to stop by for seasonal events or plan a group tour.
