About Us / Boulder Knoll Community Farm CSA History: Now in our fourth year of production, we continue to expand our growing beds and improve the soil on three acres of Cheshire town-owned land. We will be building high tunnels this year to moderate the effects of our very wet weather patterns. We adhere to the high production and environmental standards in the Farmers Pledge. We are offering 66 CSA shares in a 20 week distribution season for 2011. A share will pick up every other week (ie 10 times). We provide a wide variety of our own vegetables as well as fruit grown by High Hill Orchard in Meriden. CSA shares are expected to contribute at least 12 hours for the season, and a small number of work intensive shares will be available. A limited number of no-work shares are available.Boulder Knoll Community Farm is an educational farm and have an environmental educator on staff who works with children, youth and adults to facilitate learning about flora and fauna on the farm, growing practices and harvesting and preparing nutritious food. We welcome inquiries about field trips and other learning opportunities. We plan to have several fun community events during the year including work day/ potlucks, and special fundraising farm dinners. We serve one restaurant client and donate a significant amount of food to two local soup kitchens.
