About Us / Coastal Gourmet Pollen, Etc. History: Coastal Gourmet Pollen, Etc., arose from the ashes of the now defunct Golden Gourmet Pollen, LLC, which was formed four plus years ago by myself and another partner.
It is my passionate vision to provide unique products to people who similarly see a value in them. You may know that a task without a vision is drudgery; a vision without a task is but a dream; and a vision with a task is the hope of our world. I could not let that hope slip away. I decided to continue my vision and created Coastal Gourmet Pollen, Etc.
We are a vibrant vertically integrated company with a vision and a task that we are up to doing. We grow, pack and ship only our organically certified products grown on California Central Coast farms that I operate.
My wife calls me a human “doing”, since I am always doing something. I grew up in the vast fertile San Joaquin Valley of California. I farmed there for over a quarter century. I still produce flower, vegetable, herb and grass seed. I received my Mechanical Engineering degree from Fresno State College, now known as Cal State University at Fresno in the 70’s. One of my first jobs was as an engineer at the Raytheon Corporation in Oxnard, California. A fellow engineer and a mentor to me helped design the ‘Lunar Rover Vehicle’ in the late 60’s. I later worked in the flower seed industry at Lompoc, California. This is very near our Westernmost Space Launch Facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base. I was involved in the production of seed of space named hybrid marigolds. ‘Apollo’, ‘Moonshot’ and ‘Mariner’ were then the best marigolds of their class in or out of this world.
My feet are now on Terra Firma and like my passions to provide unique products to you are firmly planted. I enjoy showing my over one hundred crops on the five farms that I manage at our California Central Coast location. I have been called a ‘decent docent’. Call for an appointment. Come see for yourself what I have been doing.
