About Us / Cricket Creek Farm History: Produces Animal Welfare Approved pork, beef, and dairy products. \n\nJude and Topher Sabot raise Animal Welfare Approved dairy cattle, beef cattle, and pigs at Cricket Creek Farm in Williamstown, MA. Cricket Creek Farm is a grass-based dairy located in Williamstown, MA. Nestled on the slopes of the Taconic hills, the farm consists of over 500 acres of rolling fields and woodlots, old apple orchards and sugarbush. Their herd of 40 cows is made up of registered Brown Swiss and Jerseys.\n\nThe Sabot family, Dick, Jude, and their four children; Diana, Topher, Oliver and Julia moved to Williamstown in 1984 and to Oblong Road, next door to Cricket Creek Farm, a year later. Dick taught Economics at Williams College and Jude had her hands full with the four children. The family purchased the farm in 2001 and Dick and Jude worked to establish a viable future for Cricket Creek Farm. Jude recently received her certificate in Artisanal Cheese Making from UVM and currently heads the cheesemaking operation on the farm. Topher works closely with Jude on all management issues and runs the dairy side of Cricket Creek with the help of Seth Hanauer of Hidden Pasture Farm. Dick passed away in 2005, and the farm is very much a testimony to his vision and enthusiasm.\n\nCricket Creek Farm’s mission is to continue the tradition of the small family farm, and in doing so act as stewards of the land. The Sabots said, “We seek to raise healthy, content animals in an environmentally sustainable fashion, producing high-quality dairy products and serving as valuable members of our community.”\n\nTo learn more about the Sabot family and to keep up with what’s happening at the farm, please visit http://www.cricketcreekfarm.com/?page=about.
