About Us / Domaine Da Vine Orchard & Vineyard History: Have you ever wanted to pick the grapes to make your wine? Now you can! One hour south of the Twin Cities on the beautiful bluffs above Lake Pepin in Wisconsin is Domaine Da Vine Orchard & Vineyard. Jeff and Paula Soholt tend their vineyard of 700 cold hardy vines from Minnesota and New York. Wine varieties include Canadice, Edelweiss, Frontenac, Kay Gray, La Crescent, Marechal Foch, Marquette, Prairie Star, Sabrevois, St. Croix and St. Pepin. In addition we grow the wonderful cold hardy Blue Bell, Concord, Swenson Red and Valiant table and juice grapes. Sustainably grown fruit orchards include over 40 varieties of heirloom apples, and 20 varieties of pears and plums. Hobby cider makers marvel at the rich selection of apples and liken the heirloom mixture to french cider quality.Folks looking for uniquely flavored home baked pies, crisps and sauces come back year after year for their favorite fixings. Established in 1990, the Soholt's are the third owners of this wonderful abundantly wild vineyard and orchard overlooking Lake Pepin. We think the Hiawatha valley is exceptionally beautiful and encourage folks to plan a day just to check it out. Consider eating at one of the many wonderful restaurants and bakeries nearby. For the more adventuresome, just wander some of the back roads to see the most beautiful valleys that weren't touched by glaciers. Bicycling is our passion, the scenery is fabulous and the climbs are worth the carbs.Domaine Da Vine "DDV" is open weekends August through October from 9 to 5 or by appointment. A grape/apple crusher and press is available for use at no charge. Consider packing a picnic lunch to be enjoyed at DDV... let the bluff top views flavor your senses.
