About Us / Elderberry Hill Farm History: Hi,My name is Eric Elderbrock and I run Elderberry Hill Farm (http://elderberryhillfarm.com). Elderberry Hill Farm is a place for people to develop a relationship with the food they eat and connect directly to the fertility and abundance of Southern Wisconsin. We grow a wide variety of healthy fruits and vegetables using sustainable farming practices.Started in 2011, Elderberry Hill Farm is part of a new generation of farms focused on improving our local food system. Small farms can serve the community by improving our health and protecting the environment. We eat the food we grow and want it to be the highest quality possible, grown without any pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. This year we will be offering a limited number of CSA shares delivered directly to several Madison neighborhoods (Vilas, Wil-Mar, far West Madison, and Waunakee). Elderberry Hill shareholders can expect a box of the freshest seasonal produce every week from June 7st through October 18th. Each CSA share receives 5-12 seasonal vegetables per week, enough produce for a vegetarian couple or a family of four that enjoys eating vegetables on a daily basis. We grow over 40 varieties of vegetables so you will receive lots of tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, lettuce, sweet peppers, green beans, spinach, cucumbers, and squash, plus a few less common veggies such as kale, celery, and pie pumpkins (see our website for a full list of what we grow).Elderberry Hill Farm is a member of the FRESH Food Connection (http://www.freshfoodwisconsin.org/), which means we have signed a pledge not to use any pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and we are committed to farming sustainably to preserve the health and beauty of Wisconsin farmland.A 2012 full CSA share with Elderberry Hill Farm costs $490. If you???¢??¯??¿??½???¯??¿??½?re interested in a smaller quantity of produce, we also offer a half-share for $290. Because they recognize the significant preventative health benefits of eating fresh produce, several health insurance companies are offering rebates of $100 and up when you become a CSA member. Please see http://www.freshfoodwisconsin.org/rebates.php for more details. If you are interested in signing up to be a member of the Elderberry Hill CSA or you would like more information please visit our website.
