About Us / Gallatin Valley Botanical History: Jacy and Matt started their small farm on 1 rented acre in the spring of 2003 in Manhattan, and in 2008, we were fortunate enough to start working our own ground. We initially specialized in restaurant sales, and in 2005 added a CSA to our marketing. Today, we sell to a 120 member CSA, 15 restaurants, the Community Food Coop, and three farmers markets in Bozeman. We have relied on crop rotation, cover crops, underseeding, beneficial insect attracting plants, and composted manure to maintain and improve soil fertility and tilth and manage plant pests and disease. We have 6 acres in production, including 3 greenhouses to help with cold weather season extension and warm weather crop production in our cold microclimate on the rich bottomlands of Rocky Creek.Working with us in the field are our five year old son Zachary and baby girl Ania, five interns, an assistant grower, and working CSA members. Get in touch if you'd like to explore an internship with us! Vegetable sales typically start in early June and last through mid winter with storage crop sales and winter hardy greens grown in hoophouses. The summer CSA season is from mid June to mid October, and the winter CSA is from late October through the end of December. We deliver to our wholesale accounts twice weekly from mid June through late winter. If you are interested in taking part in your local foodshed, whether it be with our CSA or as a restaurant supporter, please get in touch with Matt or Jacy!
