About Us / Giamarese Farm History: Giamarese Farm was founded in 1941 by Jim’s grandparents. When Jim grew up, he decided to take a leave from construction and purchased the 40 acres from his grandparents with his wife Sue. Since then, he has purchased 80 acres which he now rents. The farm has PYO (pick-your-own) produce which includes strawberries, peas, peaches, apples, pumpkins, greens, and Christmas trees. Jams, pickled products, butters, and dressings are located in the farmers market on the farm. The farm is open to the public and holds various events which include corn mazes, school field trips and hay rides which run during the fall and Christmas time. Jim has been a very accomplished farmer ever since the beginning of his farming career. He has been awarded the Young Farmer Award (1989), Vegetable Grower of the Year (2012), and is currently the Vice President of the State Board of Agriculture. He was one of the initial members of Farmers Against Hunger, and has preserved his land under the Farmland Preservation Act.
