About Us / Golden Eagle Alpaca Farm History: We started Golden Eagle Alpaca Farm to make the transition from city life to farm life and a more retired way of living., and it appears we have been more than successful. We have 16 Alpacas, and 6 llamas. Our Guinea Flock keeps our bug population in check and our Rhode Island Red flock of chickens provides us and our customers with fresh brown shelled eggs. We have recently added a pair of young pea fowl to look pretty and control the snake population. We raise lots of fresh veges in our 2 large garden plots. Our vegetable plots are continuing to yield and we currently sell at the Smithfield, VA, Farmers market each Saturday until mid September. We also have 1400 ft of Blackberry Bushes, an 80 tree peach orchard, 100 young blueberry bushes and 3 dozen young grape vines of the eating variety. We start our plants and flowers in our 26 ft greenhouse. Off our deck is a large demo Koi Pond, and we can build one of those for you if you like. We grow some day lilies and native fast growing trees as well. Our goal is to be as natural and "green" as possible and we take it 1 step beyond "organic" and choose to be "natural".We welcome farm visits to see the alpacas and llamas, but please call us 757/438-2997, to make sure we will be around. If you are in the market for any of the above, please call to arrange a visit, and thanks for looking at our site.
