About Us / Greeley Farmers' Market History: The Greeley Farmers' Market has been serving the Greeley community since 1992. Operated by the City of Greeley as a community event, the Market provides local growers, producers, value-added food preparers and artists/crafters the opportunity to connect with residents and businesses to sell their products.
The Market has accepted SNAP benefits since 2007, allowing consumers on food assistance the opportunity to procure fresh, local produce and other eligible food items. Since 2012, we have also provided a double value for SNAP clients through our SNAP it Up! program that doubles the amount of their SNAP redemption specifically for local produce.
The Market features a Bistro where shoppers can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee along with a fresh pastry or breakfast burrito while they visit with friends and listen to local musicians.
In 2011, at the urging of both vendors and customers, we started a Winter Market. This market session has seen tremendous growth in vendor sales over it's three years of existence.
The Market has been a member of the Colorado Farmers' Market Association since the early 90's. The Market Manager has been a member of the CFMA board since 2006, serving as president from 2008 to 2010. Through the work of CFMA, farmers' markets statewide have benefited from stronger relationships between markets as well as with regulatory agencies, food access programs and service organizations.
