About Us / Haines Farms History: Haines Farms, just north of Richmond, Missouri, consists of 15 partially wooded acres, with lots of quality pasture, a spring-fed well, stocked pond, and plenty of natural wildlife. Doug Haines raises a small flock of AWA-certified laying hens here through his own labor, with two nanny goats providing natural weed control. He took over the property in 1993 but it has been in the family since the 1970s.\nHaines Farms started with just gardens and fruit trees, but in 2004 the first hens arrived. Doug is proud to still have three of these original ladies, two of which are still laying. The hens at Doug’s farm live a full life producing healthy, fresh eggs for local customers. Research shows that pasture-raised eggs contain three times as much vitamin E, seven times more beta-carotene and twice the amount of Omega 3 fatty acids as industrial eggs.\nDoug takes great pride in the way he operates his farm, and letting the animals live a happy and natural life. Being Animal Welfare Approved adds to that pride and he is committed to remaining certified as long as he continues to raise animals.\nDoug’s eggs are available from the farm; call for availability or follow him on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Haines-Farms/100824756623870.
