About Us / Honey Sweetie Acres History: We embarked on living a healthier, more natural way of working, living and eating. Part of this plan meant acquiring delicious, healthy goat milk. So we began our second life raising kids, only this time.....our girls and boys are Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats.(Nigerian Dwarfs have the highest butterfat milk of any goat breed which makes them ideal for skin care products.) We began making goat milk cheese and soap for ourselves and family. My husband had several skin conditions from spending most of his career in the construction industry. Mortar, grout, and chemicals had taken their toll on his hands. A fungal condition required prescription medication which did little to help. He came to me a few weeks after using our goat milk soap and showed me his hands,.....completely healed and the condition has never returned. We knew we had something that had to be shared.
With my chemistry education and work experience, I began to research soap making. We formulated our own recipe and began slowly in a local farmers market in 2013. The soap sold very well the first year. We increased the number and size of events we attended and the sales rose rapidly. Reviews from customers were outstanding and they asked for more natural products so we began slowly expanding into lotions, body butters, lip balms, lotions bars etc, keeping the products as natural and wholesome as possible. We offer our products in several lines.....unscented, essential oil only, fragrance oil only and essential/fragrance oil blends.
Wanting to differentiate ourselves from the myriad of soap makers out there, I sought certification through the Handcrafted Soap Makers and Cosmetics Guild. In May of 2014, we were awarded Advanced Certification in Cold and Hot Process soapmaking.
We are adding more goats to keep up with the demand for our products and sales of goat kids have grown as well!. Our success is due to family, hard work, wonderful customers and the Good Lord.
