About Us / Kerstens' Maple Hill Centennial Farm History: Welcome to our farm! We are a family owned and operated small farm specializing in locally grown fresh farm produce, ranging from in-season fruits and vegetables to fresh eggs, grass-fed beef, raw milk and cheeses, and maple syrup, cooked down the old-fashioned way over an open fire. We also run a greenhouse in the spring and summer. We have a growing membership in our CSA that runs from the middle of June through the month of October. Our mission is to grow and locally distribute, quality farm produce in a way that will preserve our land for future generations and give our customers a connection to the production of their food, and at the same time, provide a sustainable income for the farmer. We are committed to keeping the farm small as a way of limiting the need for expensive equipment and outside labor. We are located 1 mile north of Split Rock, WI, in southwest Shawano County, in an area of rolling hills and glacial boulder trains. The farm has been in the family since Ron's grandfather homesteaded it in 1895. Farm tours, by appointment, are offered seasonally, featuring maple syrup production, greenhouse management, gardening and harvesting, cheese making, sausage making in the old smoke house, and astronomy classes.
