About Us / Koinonia Farm Community History: Koinonia Farm is an intentional Christian farming community located in beautiful southwest Georgia. We have 90 acres of pecan groves, which we harvest and process in our on-site pecan plant. We also have a commercial bakery where we make chocolate pecan bark, granola, peachcakes, smoked pecans, cinnamon spiced pecans and our unique pecan stuffed dates. Spring and summer bring u-pick blueberries and scuppernong grapes. All fruit is grown without the use of chemicals, and we hoping to offer strawberries and some tree fruits in the next couple of years. We are launching into the world of grass-fed livestock, and currently we have cows, goats, chickens, geese, ducks, rabbits, guinea fowl, and honey bees.A new master plan for our 590 acres is in the process of being written. We are using Permaculture as a guide for sustainable living and farming. In February 2009, we will offer the first ever Permaculture Design Course in Georgia, and we plan to offer weekend workshops throughout the year in practical Permaculture-related skills such as water catchment and sheet mulching. We have three internship sessions each year, for those who are interested in an in-depth community experience. In addition, overnight visitors are welcome to stay and participate in our life of prayer, work, study, service and fellowship. Or you can simply stop by to join us for shared community lunch, and to have a tour of our facilities and grounds. Visit our website or call for reservations and applications.
