About Us / Lang House History: The Lang House on Main Street was built as a private residence in 1881 in the prestigious Hill Section neighborhood of Burlington, Vermont. Converted to a bed and breakfast inn in 2000, the Lang House offers eleven rooms with beautiful period furnishings and private baths. \n\nAll through the Lang House, you will see all the architectural qualities and appointments you might expect in a 19th century Victorian home: beautifully kept period furnishings and antiques, soaring ceilings, stained glass windows, and stunning woodwork and plaster detailing with a rosette pattern repeated throughout the house. \n\nWe serve breakfast between 7:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. in the first floor Dining Room and Sun Porch. Three breakfast options are available every morning: homemade low-fat granola served with a Vermont organic non-fat vanilla yogurt and fresh fruit; an egg dish which might be herb scrambled, poached, fried or souffled; and pancakes, French toast or waffles. All dishes include a selection of breakfast meats, fruits and vegetables, and homemade baked goods. Many of the ingredients, including the meats, are purchased at area farmers' markets from sustainable farmers. We can accommodate your special dietary needs or preferences (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, food allergies, or lactose intolerance). Just let us know prior to your arrival!\n\nJust 3 miles from Burlington International Airport (BTV), the Lang House on Main Street is conveniently located between the University of Vermont (UVM) and downtown Burlington. It's a short walk to the UVM or Champlain College campuses. Also within walking distance are the Lake Champlain waterfront and Burlington's downtown, including the Flynn Theatre, galleries, museums, restaurants, shops and the Church Street Marketplace (a 4-block thriving city center made for walking and browsing Burlington's eclectic mix of shops and eateries).
