About Us / Marview Farms History: As a young boy in Cuba, his rural upbringing engrained his love for animals, but by the time he was six, his father moved them to the United States as the political corruption of Cuba began to take its toll on the island. His father found work in construction, and if he wasn’t in school, rest assured Fernando was working side by side with his father. By the time he was 12, his father purchased a 1.25 acre property in rural Hialeah Gardens of Miami and together father and son built their family’s home. Once completed, Fernando began his agricultural journey by raising chickens, horses, turkeys, guineas, cows, and dogs. He settled down with his high school sweetheart and raised three lovely daughters, all while operating a successful roofing and construction business. It seemed he was on his way to achieving his dreams of a perfect life, but at just 28, he was diagnosed with a cancerous sarcoma in his left thigh, that almost put an end to his plans. After successfully undergoing treatment and operation, he has since devoted himself to taking care of his body, mind, and eating right. After learning the unnatural ways of food production currently implemented by our food system, he knew how important it was to carry out his vision. Hard work and sacrifice have allowed Fernando to accomplish his personal goal of retiring at the age of 47, and pursuing his love of farming.
