About Us / Maytag Mountain Ranch History: Our cattle are born and raised in the beautiful Wet Mountain Valley in Colorado. Maytag Mountain Ranch is just less than 3,000 acres, and the grasslands are lush and green the days warm and the nights cool. Our management intensive rotation grazing system insures they have plenty of fresh grass to eat. Our pastures are never artificially fertilized. Our cattle drink ice cold spring water so clean and pure it has been tested safe for people to drink. We never use hormones and never use antibiotics. Our cattle are not taken to the feed lot to be finished. Instead they fatten on natural grass, the way nature intended. We are priced 15% lower than the same cuts at supermarket prices. We usually have availability starting in July and running through December. Our customers can pick up their beef at Maytag Mountain Ranch or at the processor. We process in Salida and in Colorado Springs at USDA inspected facilities. The beef is frozen "rock hard" and packed in cardboard boxes for easy pickup and transporting. We occasionally deliver to customers (additional fees will apply). Call for more information. The next opportunity to order beef will be in June 2005.
