About Us / Musgrave Orchard and New Growth Gardens History: Our family grows vegetables at New Growth Gardens, located in northwest Monroe County, providing fresh produce for Core Farms CSA. We use organic methods to grow varieties of garlic, vegetables, culinary herbs, and flowers. After purchasing Musgrave’s Orchard in 2003, we began nurturing the land there with sustainable practices, transitioning to organic apple production. Value-added organic apple products are our main focus. We press fresh apple cider from Labor Day through March. From May through early December we visit with CSA families who pick up their weekly bounty from the broad tables in barn room under our Musgrave’s Orchard country store. In addition to the summer Core Farms CSA, we now offer a Winter Share program, with weekly pick-up from Mid-October through early December that includes an optional egg share, grains and beans from Fields of Agape, honey, sorghum, apple cider and apple cider sorbet. Also in the winter share are a wide variety of late fall fruits and vegetables, including apples, turnips, potatoes, onions, winter squash, radishes, and arugula.Products available at the Bloomington Community Farmers Market (November), Bloomingfoods, Sahara Mart, Restaurant Tallent, through Core Farms CSA, and at the orchard store (Labor Day–Thanksgiving, Wednesday-Sunday 10:30-6:30).
