About Us / Nick's Organic Farm History: Founded in 1979, Nick’s Organic Farm sells directly to consumers from our two locations in Potomac and Buckeystown, MD. Join our mailing list to purchase our products: www.nicksorganicfarm.com.
We raise all grass-fed Black Angus cattle, pastured chickens and turkeys, free-range eggs, and food grade grains. Located in the fertile Frederick Valley on a 165-acre certified organic farm, we are committed to constant improvement of our soil and our organic farming methods. We have conducted on-farm research with federal, state and non-profit agencies to refine our organic practices. Our cattle are not given hormones, grain or antibiotics. Our poultry and eggs are grass based, and we grow our grains and grind our own poultry feed.

Today, he sells consumer products as well as farm products such as grain, seed, poultry feed, and hay.
Over the years, Nick has been active with national and state organizations advancing local, organic and sustainable agriculture. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack appointed Nick to a five year term as a member of the National Organic Standards Board starting in January 2011. Nick is a founding member of the Maryland Organic Food and Farming Association, the Maryland Small Farm Cooperative, and Future Harvest. Nick has also worked closely with other farmers and scientists at the Organic Farming Research Foundation to publish the National Organic Research Agenda.
