About Us / Old Bluestone Wall Homestead History: The Old Bluestone Wall Homestead is located in the Delaware Highlands in the Woodtown area of Shohola, Pennsylvania.Currently, we have fresh free-range chicken eggs available. Guinea eggs are available by request and duck eggs will be available late summer. Our heritage breed chickens, guineafowl, and ducks are hatched and raised here on the homestead. Our animals are fed certified organic feed from nearby farms and mills in Pennsylvania and New York, fruits and vegetables from our organic garden, and anything they find while free-ranging throughout the day in our chemical free pasture and forest. Our eggs are hand-gathered each morning and like all truly free-range eggs, are high in omega-3s, vitamin E, Vitamin A, and Beta-Carotene.We raise the following heritage breed chickens, all of which are American breeds listed on the ALBC Conservation List:Jersey Giants, Buckeyes, Black Javas, Rhode Island Reds (non-industrial), Plymouth RocksWe also have French Black Copper Marans, one of the rarest breeds of chicken in the United States; producing one of the darkest chocolate-brown eggs of any breed. In addition, our Ameraucanas have begun laying beautiful blue-green eggs.We have recently added Tamworth and Hereford pigs, both are heritage breeds and listed on the ALBC Conservation Priority List, along with Malard and Cayuga ducks (Cayuga ducks are listed by the ALBC as a threatened breed).
