About Us / Pendleton County Farmers Market History: The Pendleton County Farmers' Market was founded in the year 2000 by a local vegetable producer and has served the highest quality fruits and vegetables to the citizens of Pendleton County since then. Since 2012, the market has seen great growth in the number of vendors actively engaged in not only the sale of produce, but giving back to the community and building a strong network around food. The market has increased the variety of products they produce from basic vegetables, to the extraordinary added value products that they feature today.
Rose Hill Farm Winery has added highly palatable local award winning Kentucky Wines, Faith Acres Farm taps their maples and produces the perfect maple syrup to be paired with pancakes, Bubbly Bee soaps is continually exploring new scents and remedies for those pesky mosquitoes with their homemade soaps. While Garden Sisters have beautiful hand painted gourds and dried herbs, Zhenya Ruber is the resident green thumb with beautiful cole crops, and Charley Herron produces a big garden with great results. There are many more members of our market, and without their unique attributes and continued drive to produce more and offer more to clients, that is where the true success of the market lies.
The Pendleton County Cooperative Extension Service is a big supporter of the market and frequently offer Plate it Up Kentucky Proud samples, workshops, free kitchen gadgets, and have developed a Sprouts program for children, encouraging them to eat healthy and providing them with buying power.
