About Us / Pleasant Valley Farm History: Pleasant Valley Farm is a second generation diversified family farm located in Tionesta, Pennsylvania. We believe in preserving the historic family farm and utilize draft animal power, antique machinery, and believe in doing things sustainably and as self-sufficiently as possible. We offer organically grown, seasonal produce & herbs, grass fed meats, free range eggs, and home canned products. Our gardens use only organic methods and feature many heirloom varieties, and our machinery is powered by a mother-daughter team of Belgian horses who were born & trained right here on the farm. Our seasonal produce ranges from peas, greens and rhubarb in the spring to winter squash, potatoes and storage vegetables in late fall. We also grow a variety of herbs and offer them both fresh & dried. Our excess garden bounty is preserved in our kitchen in small batches and we offer a wide variety of products to our customers, including gourmet jams, whole grain mustards, naturally fermented vinegars, pickles, salsas, and much more. A full description of products offered can be found on our website. All of our animals are raised in free range, pasture based systems. We offer beef, pork, chicken, lamb & turkey, all from animals raised here, as well as 4 varieties of homemade sausages. We believe in utilizing heritage breed animals, and in addition to our Belgian mares, we also raise Dexter cattle, Silver Fox Rabbits, Katahdin sheep, Bourbon Red Turkeys, and a variety of heritage poultry including Delaware & Barred Rock chickens. We source raw milk cheese and organically grown coffee from other small, local food producers. In addition to our edible products, Dan is also a blacksmith creating hand-forged metal creations, while Emily makes jewelry from our peacocks' feathers and from recycled seed catalogs, which can be found in our online store on our website. Emily also blogs about farming, food, and green living, and would love to have you join the conversation!
