About Us / Rocky Mount Gourds & Treasures of Louisiana History: We have a family owned gourd farm. The gourds may be used for a culinary experience when very young. More mature gourds may be used to create art/craft forms from bird houses to the finer crafting shown in galleries throughout our great nation.Susan Breeland creates a Fine Art Gourd, while Bill is creating bird houses from the Martin to the Blue birds as well as dipper gourds. Demos of Folk Life usage is available for Folk Life Festivals. Garden tours available upon request.Bill and Susan also enjoy sharing their naturally grown fruits used in making jellies and preserves. Only fruits grown at Rocky Mount are used in Susan's jellies. Each piece of fruit is hand selected by Susan and Bill for excellence in quality. No pesticides are used here.We consider our products "treasures of Louisiana" and like to call it "Lagniappe" from Louisiana. We are nestled in the Piney Hills of Northwest Louisiana and in Susan's art/fine craft creations from the gourds a "Certified Louisiana" product is maintained. Louisiana Long Leaf pine needles are harvested from their trees, are used in Susan's weaving to create a Gourdsket.Recipes for the culinary usage are available upon request.
