About Us / Royal Fibers Farm History: Royal Fibers Farm is a small farm just outside of Dixon, CA in the Sacramento Valley. We raise a few sheep for wool and lamb, alpacas, guanacos and llanacos (llama guanaco cross) for the fiber. As spinners, we are very particular about the wool we spin, so make every effort to keep hay and other vegetative matter out of the fleeces. Chemicals are almost never used on the farm, though we are not certified organic. We sell many fibers (raw fleeces, rovings or yarns) through our store, including homegrown wools from Merino cross, and CVM cross sheep. We also have Alpaca fiber from our 12 fiber males, as well as from our Peruvian connection. Guanaco Fiber is available from time to time in small lots.We also have on hand handspun yarns in wool and alpaca, in natural or natural dyed colors . Lamb is also available from time to time. In produce, our main crop is almonds, but we also raise a variety of peppers which are available seasonally. Fruits from our small orchard may also be available in small lots during the season, and include plums, apricots, plumcots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, lemons and grapefruit. Small lots of tomatoes, green beans and okra may also be available. We will be marketing our products, including fiber, at the Dixon Farmers Market starting in 2007.
