About Us / LS Shaft's Farm / Love a Duck History: LS Shaft's Farm is an independent, non-certified organic farm in Scappoose, Oregon. Steve Shaft, founder & owner of LS Shaft's Farm since 2000, is a farmer, duck herder, dog lover, silversmith & accomplished culinary artist. He sells heirloom vegetables, fruits & herbs from his garden. He also sells duck eggs, raw honey, homemade hot sauce, homemade green salsa, silver jewelry, polished & carved stone, all available on his website: www.lsshaftsfam.com or at various markets and bazaars throughout the year.
Steve's diverse talents have all contributed to his desire for a natural, self-sustaining lifestyle. As a cook, Steve traveled throughout Europe & the Mid East, cultivating a knack for cooking really great Indian food. After returning to the USA, he settled in San Francisco, opened a new age rock & jewelry shop, taught himself silversmithing & continued cooking for the next 15 years. Longing for a home of his own, he wandered into Scappoose, Oregon, liked what he found & established Shaft's Farm. He continues silversmithing & cooking. His talent for creating & concocting has lent itself to develop creams & lotions for skin care without the use of added water, petroleum products, alcohol or synthetics. Thus, Love a Duck was established in 2013 as the fluffy side of Shaft's Farm, selling all natural skin creams, essential oils, rose water, beeswax, leather care creams & honey.
