About Us / Shatto Milk Company History: Shatto Milk Company is a small, family farm that milks its own cows and bottles its own farm fresh milk on-site in glass containers. Locals describe it as a great place with great people, a true hard-working family dairy farm. The dairy farm is situated on 400 acres in northwestern Missouri, just north of Kansas City. It's been a dairy operation for over 60 years, but the land has actually been in the same family for over 100 years. \n\nShatto's Holstein dairy cows are milked daily and feed on an all-natural grain mixture of alfalfa hay, corn, and soy beans. The cows also graze on pasture where they like to sit down, relax, and take it easy. The cows are never administered hormones such as rGBH and they're only given antibiotics should an animal fall ill. \n\nShatto Milk Company products include whole, 2%, 1%, and skim milk in gallons and quarts; whole chocolate milk and 2% chocolate milk in half-gallons, quarts, and pints; pints of cream and half-and-half; quarts of orange cream, strawberry, and root beer flavored milk; and half-gallons of tea, fruit punch, and orange drink. All of these products are available at the on-farm store or at select retail outlets throughout northwestern Missouri, Kansas City, and eastern Kansas. For a full list of retailers, please visit the Shatto Milk Company website. \n\nVisitors are more than welcome to drop by and see how the operation runs. Just be sure to make an appointment. Tours are available Tuesday through Saturday throughout the year. Tours typically last one and a half hours from start to finish. The minimum group size is ten, however smaller groups such as families can be accommodated. There is a $4 charge per person, and children two and under are free. All groups are welcome; the farm has hosted tours for school field trips, families, Boy and Girl Scouts, businesses and Senior citizen bus tours.
