About Us / Sophia Grace Center for Nutrition History: Registered Dietitian and Nutritionist for over 34 years. Work with children, adults, and families. Have a passion for getting families back to the table and enjoying home cooked meals, and family communion. A large percentage of my clients suffer from obesity, both pediatric and adult patients; and, another percentage suffer from anorexia nervosa, the other end of the eating disorders spectrum. I became a dietitian because of my love for people, food, and science. I am a 3rd generation Italian America, with roots in Sicily. Sicilians are mainly farmers and grocers. My grandparents grew up on farms and owned a grocery store. We have the privilege of eating fresh cut meats from my Grandfather's butcher shop and fresh produce from my grandparents farm. I contribute to the movement of farm to table by speaking in a variety of locations on life balance, and reclaiming the family table. I also incorporate the spiritual aspect of eating, reminding my clients that we were given food by creation to keep our body in good health. In addition, I remind them that eating is a sacred practice in that we must be mindful and grateful for the food on our table, thanking the plants, animals, and farmers who brought us this food.
