About Us / The Chopping Block Farm History: Why Us? We hand raise, nurture, pick, pet, and grow everything that leaves this farm. Whether you are getting a tomato or a Thanksgiving turkey, know it was responsibly raised and processed or grown and harvested, right here on the farm.Who We AreAt Chopping Block Farm, we are focused on providing you with the information you need to make eating local and supporting small farms a more comfortable choice. We started this farm with then intention of not only eating better ourselves, but to allow others the opportunity to have choices about what they put into their bodies. Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to see you again! Check back later for new updates to our website. There’s much more to come!About our Organic Eggs: 100% free ranged and cage free egg laying flock. Our chickens roam 25 acres to find the best grub! We do not restrict their diets with "All-Vegetarian" feed. Chickens are omnivores and we allow them to be so. The result is great tasting, nutritious eggs of all colors and sizes at only $2.50 a dozen (for mixed colors and sizes small->extra large.)About our meat chickens: Our meat birds come from Freedom Ranger Hatchery. We order them as day old chicks and receive them at 2-3 days of age. Upon arrival they are placed in the brooder where they will live out the first 3 weeks of their lives before going onto pasture. They are fed a NON-medicated feed, given no artificial growth hormones, steroids or antibiotics at any point. Upon being moved onto pasture in a Salatin style moveable pen (to ensure they not only delicious and nutritious, but tender and safe from predators!) They are moved to fresh pasture at LEAST once a day for a never ending supply of fresh grass, insects, worms, mice and everything else a chicken NATURALLY eats. We do NOT feed an "all vegetarian" diet. CHICKENS are OMNIVORES and that is what we allow them to be Our chickens get to be chickens from day one, and they are allowed to be chickens until their last moment, when they are humanely processed right on the farm.
