About Us / Toluma Farms and Tomales Farmstead Creamery History: Toluma Farms was started by first time farmer family (David Jablons and Tamara Hicks) along with their two daughters, Josy and Emmy in 2003. They spent 5 years restoring the land of the defunct 160 acre cow dairy. The land was certified organic and placed into an agriculture land trust with Marin Agriculture Land Trust ensuring that the property remains in the Bay Area food shed in perpetuity. They next 3 years was spent on restoring the barns and milking parlor and adding goats and recently sheep. The final (hopefully) phase has been the last 3 years project of building an on farm creamery. Beginning in the Spring of 2013 Tomales Farmstead Creamery started making goat cheeses (kenne and liwa). The 3rd cheese expected Spring of 2014 will be a sheep/goat cheese. Toluma Farms and Tomales Farmstead Creamery is committed to the farm education of youth and adults and is open for public and private tours.
