About Us / Wildfire Fellowship Farm History: Wildfire Fellowship Farm
The farm is owned and managed by Peter Coleman, who has been growing fruit and vegetables on this land for over forty years. In 2012, the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) granted the farm organic certification. All fruit and vegetables produced for sale are certified organic. That means we adhere to the strict standards of the USDA National Organic Program.
Our goal is to maintain and increase soil quality by the addition of minerals and organic matter that will feed soil life and result in the production of nutritious and great tasting produce.
2013 was our first full year of commercial production and all produce was sold wholesale to local retail vendors. Today the majority of our production is dedicated to retail sales via our CSA share program (Community Supported Agriculture) and an A la carte Direct Sales Program. We do still provide wholesale produce to Fare Share Market on Main Street in Norway.
The farm is located in the western Maine town of Buckfield.
Our farm offers a variety of certified organic fruits and vegetables. We are independently certified Organic by MOFGA certification services LLC – our certification number is 1215.
