About Us / anthony angelini designs History: I have been involved with food since I was old enough to reach the knobs of a stove! My mother was an excellent cook so I learned many techniques from her. Growing up, my father would take us to various ethnic restaurants so, I guess food was instilled in me at a very young age. Two partners and me, had a small gourmet take out restaurant in Los Angeles back in the eighties visited by such folk as Lana Turner, James Arness and many Beaverly Hills professionals. After we closed the restaurant due to the passing of one of the partners, I became a private chef in Beverly Hills until I moved to Hawaii. Here, I have a wedding/catering business so, moved back into the private chef arena is a natural progression for me.
I have been living on Maui for 27 years now and love the ability to have quality food products all year long. The diversity of products on the islands are awesome so I use mostly organic, local ingredients. Fresh fish from our local fishermen, the finest micro greens from my local farmers and I grow some fruit on the property.
I am versed in many ethnic foods. Some of my favorites to cook are, Chinese, Central and South American, Italian, French, Thai, Korean, foods of the Cajun region of Louisiana just to name a few.
I have been doing "fusion" foods most my life and way before that style became chic. I experiment all the time to create one of a kind dishes that at times, are combinations of maybe three to 5 different regions and nations.
Food IS a joy for me hence, never a challenge and always part of who I am.
