Global Food System

Definition:

A concept developed around the vast influences of trade, globalization, labor and market competition in the way it effects the production, distribution, pricing and consumption of food worldwide.

Example of Global Food System:

The US as a major producer of soybeans and corn plays a big role in the global food system. The US exports their corn and soybeans to support other countries that are not able to grow these crops.
